About the Job
  • The Afternoon Closing Staff member is responsible for helping provide a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for our children, families, and staff. This position requires an individual who is dependable, hardworking, able to work independently, and comfortable working with school-age children.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Cleaning & Building Closing

    This position requires a significant amount of daily cleaning. The employee must be willing and physically able to complete all assigned cleaning duties before leaving for the day.
    Responsibilities include:
    • Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms and common areas
    • Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors, and floors
    • Sweeping and mopping floors
    • Vacuuming carpeted areas and rugs
    • Wiping and sanitizing tables, chairs, counters, doors, and frequently touched surfaces
    • Emptying trash cans and replacing liners
    • Picking up and organizing classrooms and shared spaces
    • Returning toys, materials, and equipment to their proper locations
    • Checking rooms at the end of the day to ensure they are clean and ready for the next morning
    • Completing assigned closing cleaning checklist
    • Making sure designated areas of the building are properly secured before leaving

    School-Age Child Supervision

    The employee will also work directly with our school-age children during the afternoon program.
    Responsibilities include:
    • Actively supervising children at all times
    • Maintaining a safe and organized environment
    • Engaging appropriately and positively with children
    • Assisting with afternoon activities, homework, centers, outdoor play, and transitions
    • Helping children clean up after activities
    • Maintaining appropriate classroom behavior and following school policies
    • Communicating concerns or incidents to administration

    Job Requirements

    The ideal candidate must:
    • Be dependable and punctual, especially because this is a closing position
    • Be comfortable performing daily physical cleaning duties
    • Be able to sweep, mop, vacuum, bend, lift, reach, and remain on their feet for extended periods
    • Be willing to clean bathrooms and classrooms thoroughly
    • Be able to work independently and complete duties without constant supervision
    • Be comfortable working with school-age children
    • Have a positive attitude and professional appearance
    • Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and child-care procedures
    • Work well as part of a team
    • Pay close attention to detail
    • Complete all assigned closing responsibilities before leaving for the day
    Important: This is both a child-care and cleaning position. Applicants should understand that maintaining the cleanliness of the classrooms, bathrooms, floors, and common areas is a major responsibility of the afternoon closing shift.

Requirements:


  • Position is Monday- Friday(required), NO WEEKENDS. - PART TIME POSITION 3pm-6:45pm (Mon, Tues. Thur and Friday) WEDNESDAY- 2PM-6:45PM
  • No Experience Needed, Will Train. Hourly Pay to be determined in Interview and based on experience/ education/etc.
  • Must complete a Background Screening (Clearinghouse)
  • Immediate Hire
